My Role
I created visibility for key PSD2 performance metrics and provided detailed insights into transaction risk analysis (TRA) exemption flows, authorization rates, and other core PSD2 parameters.

The Product
Our payment products deliver both accuracy and speed: declining high-risk transactions early while keeping checkout frictionless through smart exemptions and optimized 3DS. This complexity requires new visibility and skills for fraud agents, which led us to design a dedicated section in our platform.
The Issues & Opportunities
Riskified analyzed Q4 2020 card-not-present transactions to see how they would fall under PSD2 rules. By comparing transaction values with fraud risk profiles, we tested the effectiveness of the Transaction Risk Analysis (TRA) exemption - revealing which payments are typically safe enough to bypass Strong Customer Authentication and which ones still require stricter checks.
Research & Ideation
I spoke with European merchants and stakeholders about their past challenges, focusing on pain points in the checkout flow such as fraud rings, account takeovers, issuer declines, and 3DS friction. I mapped the process to identify what is most crucial for users to see and defined the top KPIs.
Technical Mapping
The banking system is robust and complex. The new 3DS introduces additional layers of information transitions, communication, and friction.
Solution
New Dashboard
I developed a dashboard with a clear top-to-bottom hierarchy, enabling users to filter and deep-dive into data for sharper insights. I created a user-friendly filter system and an order table with designated columns for fast screening. I also designed a simple textual funnel to illustrate the order journey on a single order page.
